The University of the Fraser Valley

The University of the Fraser Valley (UFV) recently contracted a Design Build Team led by Giffels Partnership Solutions to construct a new state-of-the-art Trades and Technology Centre at the Canada Education Park campus. Western Industrial Contractors (WIC) were the general contractor and worked closely with UFV during the design, construction and commissioning phases of the project.

This project was very challenging in terms of schedule and UFV was particularly impressed with the care and attention that WIC paid to our operational requirements, job site safety and the fluctuating sub-trade workforce.

WIC’s work ethic was based on trust and created a positive influence on the project. This made problem solving and negotiating changes more effective. Their positive attitude also had a significant role in retaining sub-trades throughout the duration of the project.

I enjoyed working with Brian Savage and his team and sensed the pride they take in their work. UFV was satisfied with their work and would welcome the opportunity to work together again.
